General objectives of the title:
The special connection of the Autonomous Community of Galicia with the marine environment demands the training of specialists who can take charge of the evaluation, management and correct assessment of the diversity and marine resources of a given geographical area, guaranteeing their conservation within the framework current legal. Likewise, it is equally essential to train personnel dedicated to developing teaching and research tasks in the field of marine biology.
Specific objectives of the title:
to. Provide students with the latest and newest techniques and tools to design and execute experimental work, as well as to analyze and evaluate theoretical and practical problems related to the field of marine biology.
b. Train them in capacities and competences that allow their integration in R + D + i departments or research centers of other public and personal institutions.
c. Provide them with the fundamental knowledge in the sustainable management of marine resources.
d. Provide them with general complementary tools that will be useful in the future in other biological and biotechnological areas related to the conservation and management of the marine environment.
Achieving these goals comes with gaining a series of knowledge and acquiring a series of skills and abilities. Among the knowledge that students can acquire in this program, those on:
to. Organization, structure, operation and study methods of marine organisms and ecosystems.
b. Evaluation and study methods of polluting processes and other attacks on the marine environment.
c. Response of marine ecosystems to anthropogenic activity.
d. Molecular analysis techniques and their applications in aquaculture, fisheries, traceability, conservation and evolution.

The abilities and skills that students will be able to acquire will be diverse. In general, it can be highlighted that they will receive instruction on:
to. Search and use of scientific-technical bibliography.
b. Basic software management for data analysis and process evaluation.
c. Instrumentation management for the sampling of natural communities and quantification of environmental variables. Application of statistical data processing techniques.
d. Writing and preparing technical reports and scientific articles.
and. Undertaking initiatives and decision-making related to environmental impacts on marine ecosystems.

2) Use of scientific criteria and methods in approaching and solving problems.
3) Development of capacities to apply knowledge to new environments, especially in multidisciplinary contexts.
4) Development of teamwork skills.
5) Search, analysis and integration of information from different sources and capacity for its interpretation and evaluation.
6) Learning of various analytical techniques and methods both in the natural environment and in the laboratory.
7) Development of skills in the handling and treatment of tools, mathematics, statistics and computing.
8) Development of the ability to prepare, present and defend works and technical reports.

Mobility

La movilidad de los/as estudiantes est谩 regulada a trav茅s del 鈥淩eglamento de intercambios interuniversitarios鈥. A trav茅s de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores se gestionan programas de intercambio tanto nacionales (SICUE), como europeos (ERASMUS) y extracomunitarios (intercambios con pa铆ses de Am茅rica Latina o pa铆ses de habla inglesa):

Internships

Debido al doble perfil del m谩ster, la Comisi贸n Acad茅mica del M谩ster propondr谩 diferentes opciones para la realizaci贸n de las practicas externas vinculadas por la tem谩tica con la orientaci贸n del m谩ster cursada, que permitir谩n que el alumno desarrolle un itinerario profesionalizante o acad茅mico/investigador. Mediante estas pr谩cticas externas se pretende promover el an谩lisis cr铆tico mediante la visualizaci贸n desde el mundo 鈥渞eal鈥 de los problemas pr谩cticos y cotidianos que surgen dentro del campo de las empresas y los laboratorios marinos.

Los alumnos que opten por el perfil profesional podr谩n realizar sus pr谩cticas en empresas del sector marino.

El alumno debe realizar un Proyecto Fin de M谩ster en el que realice un trabajo relacionado con alguno de los aspectos tratados en el M谩ster. Resulta un trabajo de s铆ntesis de los conocimientos adquiridos y adem谩s favorece la planificaci贸n y estructuraci贸n de un proyecto, con lo que el alumno debe organizar, bajo la supervisi贸n del tutor espec铆fico TFM, la estructura y organizaci贸n de los contenidos y resultados obtenidos. Si el perfil seleccionado es acad茅mico-investigador, el tutor debe ser un Doctor designado por la Comisi贸n Acad茅mica del M谩ster.
